Halfway through the 5 course meal and 1 hula dance, they had to cancel the luau due to rain

It’s a long scenic 64.4 mile drive with stops 🌳 Some of our Road to Hana stops: Twin Falls, Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees, Keanae Arboretum, Food Trucks, Hana Farms (banana bread + giant cookie) 🌳Next day, visit Lahaina’s massive banyan tree, then meet up with cousins for pool time at their resort back in Kaanapali

Maui 2022 Vacation, Part 2: Waking up in Maui (Day Maui 2022 Vacation, Part 2: Waking up in Maui (Day 1) 🌺 Arrived in the evening, got some Burger King 🌺 Settled in, gave the kids a shower and got them ready for bed. I braided Addy’s hair so she could wake up with mermaid waves. 🌺 Everyone fell asleep a bit later than usual, and still woke up at 4 or 5 in the morning lol. It took us half the trip to adjust to the time, but it was fine. Everything started early and closed early in HI anyway. 🌺 We explored the resort: looked at the penguins, played corn hole, giant Jenga and then waited for my sister and her family to come down (staying at the same resort) 🌺The kids played with their cousin for a bit before we headed to breakfast. They hadn’t seen each other since Thanksgiving.
Maui 2022 Vacation, Part 1: The kids’ first time Maui 2022 Vacation, Part 1: The kids’ first time on a plane (and it was a 6 hour flight) ✈️ We drove to LAX in the POURING rain. It was nuts. Saw at least 3 accidents. Parked nearby (prepaid parking), and took a shuttle to the terminal. ✈️ We had no bags to check in, the tickets were already in my apple wallet so we went quickly through security. Each person had a carry-on bag and a backpack (2 suitcases, 2 duffles bags and 4 backpacks). ✈️ Each kid had a backpack with an iPad (with pre-downloaded movies and shows - Encanto was a must-have), headphones, paper, crayons, coloring books, small games/toys and lots of snacks. We purchased water bottles after we passed security. ✈️ We had pizza for lunch at the airport…W Pizza and it was perfect. When we finished, we took the kids to the restroom and then it was boarding time. Felt like we barely waited at all. Timing was perfect. ✈️ On the flight there, they slept for about 30 minutes. No fuss, they were enjoying their first time on the plane, looking out the window, watching movies, coloring and eating snacks. ✈️ On the way back, they were pros. They didn’t sleep, they just watched airline provided movies (on their iPads) the entire time, ate snacks and enjoyed airline beverages. Both kids had to use the restroom and saw a plane restroom for the first time. They want to know why they’re so small lol. These kids are ready for more traveling ❤️
